My name is Julia Bottarelli. I am a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and I am expected to graduate in 2027 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film and television. I recently wrote, produced, and directed my first independent proof-of-concept film at 21 years old. The script won 7 laurels, and I secured sponsorships from Blackmagic Design, Leitz, Cinelease, Prism FX, and more, obtaining almost half a million dollars' worth of equipment for free. Through this experience, I have learned the inner workings of setting up and running a professional set, taking all proper precautions (such as production insurance), hiring professional actors, and providing a positive working environment for my cast and crew. Now that this film has wrapped up post-production and is heading to festivals, I am on to my final project at SCAD, my senior thesis, and I feel confident and prepared. I strive to build worlds around character-driven stories, diving deep into a character's mind. My goal is to show my audience a different perspective, one that makes them question their reality.
