But this film does not touch on the typical subjects involving AI, such as taking jobs and overriding human abilities. No, this film poses a moral question that is happening right under our very noses. According to the National Library of Medicine, around 38% of men in their study groups admit to having rape fantasies, but I estimate this number to be much higher. I make this claim in light of a new website that has sparked considerable controversy. In a CNN investigation, the “Rape Academy” website was discovered showing 20,000 videos, as well as photos and advice on how to drug and overpower women. In the past year, around 62 million people have logged on to this site. But this raises an interesting question: does a fantasy count? Now, with the first AI actress and new AI software used to unclothe celebrities, it is just a matter of time before AI can be used to live out violent fantasies. This film explores the moral question of whether committing an act in a false reality still warrants a guilty verdict. As misogyny is on the rise and the lonely men epidemic keeps increasing, it is not a question of if but when this will start to become a real discussion. This film is supposed to make you uncomfortable. It is centered around one of the most taboo subjects of sexual violence. I believe that to keep our humanity, we need to continue having these hard conversations to maintain our moral compass. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Why Me? As a writer and director, I am focused on telling stories with impact. I want to create art that reflects issues rooted in the psychological realm. I like diving into different characters' minds and finding the why behind their actions. I believe this story is important because it makes a statement about how this patriarchal society is being led. This is not supposed to be a shaming film, but to show a real scenario that could be closer than we think. If the audience feels uncomfortable, that means I have done my job. I want the audience to reflect on this moral question, since it's much closer than we realize. I feel confident in my ability to bring this film to life.
