Details
The film follows Nancy, who recently lost her childhood best friend, Emma, but comes to learn that Emma had been trying to phase her out of her life. Nancy now must stand in front of everyone and deliver her speech. Instead of following her original speech, she speaks from the heart at first out of frustration and anger, but it soon turns into a realization that she and Emma have grown apart, and that is ok. Friendships grow and evolve, and it's hard to let go of childhood friendships because you're letting go not only of the person but also of that childhood innocence. Nancy does not mourn the girl before her, but the childhood friendship, and when they truly were best friends, a pure friendship.
