The Orange Grove

Stranded at an isolated Georgia orange farm, a young documentary filmmaker forms an intimate bond with a sheltered farmhand, stirring dreams of escape and the resentment of the brother determined to keep him there.

The Orange Grove is a Southern Gothic queer romantic drama written and directed by Uuhao Wen. Set on an isolated orange farm in rural Georgia, the film follows a young documentary filmmaker whose unexpected connection with a sheltered farmhand unsettles the fragile order holding the family together. The project is being developed as a student short film at the SCAD, with independent producer and 2026 Sundance Institute Producers Lab Fellow Hansen Lin serving as producing advisor.
