Synopsis:
A grieving teenager confronts the pastor who convinced him to pray at church instead of calling 911 for his overdosing mother. Ten years later, their reunion forces both men to face the devastating consequences of faith, misplaced trust, and a choice that cannot be undone.
Brandon (20s) | Lead
A hollowed-out young man existing in the ruins of his grief. Angry, isolated, and trapped in the moment his mother died. He's gone through the motions of living for a decade but hasn't truly moved forward. His anger at Ronnie is matched only by his anger at himself. Blank expressions mask deep pain. When he finally breaks, the raw emotion underneath is devastating.
RONNIE (50s-60s) | Supporting Lead
An aging pastor carrying his own burden of guilt, though he'd never fully admit it. He genuinely believes he was trying to help, that his intentions were pure, that God's plan is beyond human understanding. He's both defensive and desperate for Brandon to understand. When pushed, he reveals real pain, the knowledge that his advice may have killed someone haunts him, but his faith won't let him fully accept responsibility. His profane outburst ("Be a fucking kid, dammit!") reveals the human beneath the pastoral exterior.
