After the mysterious death of his niece amid other disappearances across his and neighboring towns, Teddy Smart, a Black conspiracy theorist, becomes convinced the mayor is connected. Determined to expose the mayor, Teddy prepares to crash his open Q&A at town hall.

B-Theorist is a psychological thriller and drama about grief, racial injustice, and institutional power. The story follows Teddy Smart, a 43-year-old Black man who is haunted by the suspicious death of his niece, Sierra. After her case is closed and ruled a suicide, Teddy suspects that Mayor Victor Sterling, a powerful figure in Millwood, Mississippi, is connected to her death and other disappearances. As Teddy searches for the truth, his marriage falls apart and he finds himself isolated, mistrusting the authorities. Despite his wife’s concerns and the risks of challenging someone as influential as Sterling, Teddy refuses to give up on justice for Sierra. With more questions than answers and time running out, Teddy goes to Town Hall to confront the mayor face-to-face. As Sterling gets ready to speak to the town, no one expects the lengths Teddy will go to in order to be heard. The film looks at the struggle to raise Black voices and the personal cost of exposing a system that wants to keep them silent.
