On the brink of ending his life, a suicidal man is
interrupted by his dying grandmother; to win the "right" to die, he must defeat her in a final game of chess.
Details
The story is about Daniel, a young man who is mentally
done and wishes to take his own life. He is then stopped
by a call from his grandmother Eve who he then finds
out she is dying and has a month to live. He cares about
her well being and wants her to go to a hospice program
to rest peacefully but she doesn't agree wishing to continue
to live at the house, teaching chess to a child and being
beside Daniel.
This story is about life and death and how others
interpret it and what they do with that idea knowing its
coming. Daniel is young with life ahead of him but
wishes to die but his grandmother has a month left but
wishes to keep living until then doing what she can. In
the story a game of chess helps Daniel understand life
and that there should always be a reason to move
forward.
