Logline
“A young woman named Sage, trapped in a life of misery and despair, is given the chance to become conscious within her dreams and face her troubled history.”
Details
At 19, Sage feels trapped in a life that’s been nothing but loss. Her mother abandoned her at seven, her father buried his pain in alcohol and violence, and the final blow came when her younger sister, Zoey, tragically drowned during a swim. Isolated and broken, Sage questions why the world has stripped her of love at every turn. One night, after a brutal argument, her father lashes out—knocking Sage unconscious. But instead of slipping into nothingness, she awakens in a strange, lucid dream. There, she meets a mysterious figure, a guide who tells her that she must confront the most painful memories that still haunt her. Only by facing them can she free herself from the weight of her past and awaken with new strength. Each dream becomes a surreal trial, forcing Sage to relive abandonment, abuse, and grief—but through a new lens that challenges how she sees herself and her worth. Along the way, she begins to realize that the mysterious figure isn’t just a guide—he’s someone she created out of her need for hope. However, the final twist reveals something even more significant: the figure is real. Throughout the film, mysterious glimpses of a man’s window and bedroom finally connect. In the final scene, Sage awakens, stronger than ever, and crosses paths in real life with Noah, the mysterious figure she thought only existed in her subconscious.
